Every January people make the decision to take up new hobbies and activities, or bin bad habits.
A report has suggested that by the end of January these have been shelved and the promises people have made themselves have been broken.
Not all is lost though, making positive changes doesn’t have to happen at the turn of a new year. Today is a new day, and if you still want a healthier 2020 then here are our top tips to help you on your way.
Be in safe hands: Washing your hands, especially before eating and after going to the toilet, is one of the simplest ways of keeping germs to a minimum. Thorough cleaning with soap and water isn’t enough though as hands need to be dried properly too. If left wet or damp, germs can reattach to the skin, rendering the act of washing useless. Alternatively, you can sanitise your hands with NatraSan which kills over 99.9999% of germs. Try our Travel Buddy which is compact enough to take with you when you are out and about.
Things you’ve ‘gut’ to know: The human immune system is largely housed in the gut. Maintaining a healthy gut flora can be helped by taking a daily probiotic supplement or drinking yoghurt that contains these good bacteria. You can further this still by promoting the growth of friendly bacteria with foods that naturally contain prebiotics. These can be found in the likes of bananas, onions, artichokes and asparagus.
Sharing isn’t always caring: One very simple way to avoid picking up any unwanted bugs is to think about what you are about to share. Drink from a clean cup or glass, use your own utensils to eat, have your own dedicated towel in the bathroom and avoid the temptation to borrow someone’s lipstick or makeup brushes which could be carrying infection.
Muster the duster: Experts suggest that a home should be dusted and vacuumed, from top to bottom, at least twice a week. This is because germs can be found harbouring in dust and dirt, and they can also irritate the respiratory system. Once hard and soft surfaces have been cleaned they are then ready to be sterilised with a simple spray of NatraSan. The multi-award winning disinfectant’s active ingredient is hypochlorous acid, a chemical that’s produced naturally in human and animal immune systems and kills pathogens in seconds.
A 250ml bottle is the perfect addition to your cleaning cupboard.
Wishing you the healthiest year ever!
