What is Hypochlorous?

Hypochlorous is produced naturally in human and animal immune systems to kill invading germs.

Hypochlorous is not only one of the most effective known biocides capable of killing 99.9999% of all pathogens, it is also readily biodegradable.

The other great asset of hypochlorous is the speed at which it kills pathogens – in seconds rather than minutes.

Hypochlorous was discovered in the 19th century by a British scientist.

Actually producing hypochlorous was first achieved by scientists in the 1960s. There was always a problem however in that no one was able to make a stable version that could be packaged with a shelf life.

The Holy Grail was to find a way of stabilising hypochlorous so it had full potency and adequate shelf life and could therefore be packaged and used by the public, healthcare institutions, and businesses.

Whoever achieved that would create a monumental step forward in healthcare and hygiene.

It took a pharmaceutical-sized budget and a team of very committed scientists but we cracked it.

NatraSan is a genuinely stabilised optimum strength hypochlorous solution with a shelf life of 18 months. NatraSan does not contain preservatives or stabilising agents and the stability comes from the development of our electrodialysis manufacturing process.

Before taking NatraSan Antiseptic Spray to the market we validated our product through many independent institutions and universities and it has been field-tested in conjunction with the NHS, leading private healthcare groups, the Royal Veterinary College, and many others.

We manufacture NatraSan in our own facility. We are therefore able to carefully monitor the quality of our products at all times.

We have an enviable reputation and we have many blue-chip customers around the world including hospitals (infection control), agriculture groups, supermarket groups, food processors, veterinary clinics, etc. who use our hypochlorous technology in their fight against germs.

Though you won’t know it our hypochlorous products already keep you and your family safe through infection control in hospitals, care homes, schools, and nurseries.

We keep you safe through the sanitation of the ready-to-eat produce, salads, and herbs you buy in the supermarkets and through delivering high standards of welfare and biosecurity for farm livestock such as poultry and dairy cows.
